Kerkdriel, the Netherlands: 8 February 2023: Yacht stabilisation specialist DMS Holland has appointed Sietse van der Zee as its new Managing Director as of 1 March. He will succeed Theo Hoen who stepped down on 31 December having had a major impact on the structure, production and R&D of DMS Holland over recent years.

Sietse van der Zee brings DMS Holland a wealth of relevant experience, with a nautical educational background, a career as a captain in the merchant fleet plus 20 years of know-how built up as a project manager in shipbuilding, including at Mulder, Verolme in Heusden, Moonen, Damen and Feadship.

Van der Zee’s main strength lies in connecting and motivating people to generate greater efficiency at the organisational and production level. As a people person, he enjoys being among the troops and maintaining a close connection to daily operations. Van der Zee is committed to further developing the successful international expansion strategy of DMS Holland and to build on the technical lead it holds over competitors.

Known for his pragmatic approach, Van der Zee’s thoughts and actions are driven by honesty, transparency and a sense of justice – all of which are essential characteristics for any leader. “I feel like I am very much boarding a moving train,” he comments. “Now it’s a matter of seeing how we can help the train build up even more speed and maintain our premium quality without being blindsided by profits or growth. This will require a broad overview, careful control, good market knowledge and sound judgement.”
