No sooner had 2019 got underway, had DMS Holland reached an agreement with the proud owner of a Linssen GS 40.9 AC in Finland. Many years ago, this owner and his captain and crew sailed the 42-metre superyacht MY Northern Cross that was used in the James Bond film GoldenEye. Now that he, together with his wife, is the captain and crew of his own boat, he feels a lot freer and more comfortable. The idea of installing a stabiliser had already been in the mix at the yard in November 2017 when they bought the Linssen. “It had been offered as an option at the time, but it was during the summer of 2018, based on our sailing area, that we quickly realised that this was an option that would have been added value for us. Following our own research and on the advice of Linssen Yachts, we came to the conclusion that the DMS MagnusMaster system would be the right choice. The communication with the company was excellent and very professional from the very first moment. The fact that there were no references in Finland and there was no company at all that knew of or had installed the MagnusMaster, made the decision to purchase the system and to have it installed in Finland somewhat uncertain. DMS therefore arranged for Rens van Hal to come over to Finland and answer all questions and in turn, remove all uncertainties. Before deciding on a crucial purchase and subsequent modification of your pride and joy, you want to meet the professionals in person and that happened. Now we are looking ahead to a successful installation. In the week of 11th March, DMS Holland will, in cooperation with the shipyard, install the system, connect and commission it, after which we will go out on sea trial. We look forward to the end result with the knowledge that there are already many satisfied customers using the MagnusMaster stabilisation system which is, by far the best solution for vessels such as our Linssen MY Johanna II,” says Henrik Mahlberg from Turku, Finland.
