Owners of displacement and semi-displacement boats of up to 30 metres fall under the the large group of MagnusMaster stabilisation system potential customers. This includes boats such as the Beneteau Swift Trawler, of which there are more than 300 currently sailing the waters worldwide. Only a few of these however, are in fact equipped with a stabilisation system. DMS is therefore extra proud to announce that, at the end of April, the first Beneteau Swift Trawler 52 will set sail with a MagnusMaster stabilisation system. That pride is rightfully shared with Sweden’s Nyköpings Marincentrum. Jakob Verkstad, owner of this Swedish yard, was commissioned by the exacting owner to install the stabilisation system. “The owner of this Trawler had seriously studied his options before he made a choice. He compared many stabilisation systems, thoroughly investigating all the pros and cons. The fact that so few of these Swift Trawlers sail around with stabilisers installed is a mystery to us, but it certainly creates lots of opportunities for a good retrofit market. In our opinion, the MagnusMaster system is very suitable for these types of Trawlers, and is therefore the best choice. That’s why we were so enthusiastic to purchase the system from DMS and to install it for this customer. The owner will definitely be open to reporting back to Beneteau or their dealers once the sea trials have been completed. It will certainly generate an extra sales argument for them. An easy to install, also as retrofit, electric stabiliser that can be retracted, takes up little space and does not weigh much, is, after all, a great option. As far as I know there is only one system that does all that – the MagnusMaster,” says Jakob Verkstad.
