DMS Holland to start developing stabilisers for fast-planing yachts
Following the successful development and subsequent launch to market of the electric roll damping system for yachts up to 30 metres, the MagnusMaster, DMS Holland has now started, in cooperation with Brabant Engineering, the development of a roll damping system for fast-planing yachts up to 30 metres. This new AntiRoll damping system, like the MagnusMaster, will be produced as a standard-series stabiliser. Until now, AntiRoll has only been developed as a ‘custom build’ for super- and mega yachts. DMS Holland will be taking this patented dual-axis fin stabiliser and using it to form the basis for their new system. The fundamental concept behind AntiRoll remains the same, namely high-aspect fins that rotate whilst sailing and flap whilst the yacht is at anchor. It is stabilisation at fast speed that will form the extra addition and make it a 3-in-1 stabiliser. “How this will actually be achieved we are keeping to […]
DMS Holland chooses for social sustainability
DMS Holland is the international specialist in the field of stabilisers for luxury yachts. Reducing the rolling motion of a vessel greatly improves onboard comfort, reduces seasickness and increases safety. When a vessel experiences no rolling or hardly any rolling, it is able to maintain a better course, which in turn has a positive effect on the fuel consumption. Well-functioning stabilisers on board of a yacht are therefore of great importance. DMS Holland has two such products within its portfolio. These unique and groundbreaking roll damping systems are better known as AntiRoll, for yachts in excess of 30 metres, and MagnusMaster, for yachts up to 30 metres. IBN (Integrale Bedrijven Noordoost-Brabant) is one of the largest employers in the northeast of North Brabant. IBN provides opportunities to people who, without their help and support, would not successfully manage or find employment in the job market. Almost 3,600 motivated employees have […]
DMS Holland preferred supplier for Linssen Yachts
It is with great pride that both Linssen Yachts and DMS Holland announce that, as of July 2017, their cooperation, which originally started when DMS Holland was established back in December 2012, is now officially recognised under the title of “Preferred Supplier”. Linssen Yachts’ dealers and potential customers now find the MagnusMaster stabilisers on their price list as standard. “During the first few years of our cooperation extensive testing was carried out with the MagnusMaster system. Since then we now have a number of satisfied owners who are sailing around with a MagnusMaster system on board”, says Yvonne Linssen, co-owner of Linssen Yachts. Patrick Noor (DMS Holland): “It is only natural of course that we were not put on the Linssen Yachts option list straight away with our MagnusMaster systems when we presented our new stabilisers for the first time. Such a well-oiled company and series yacht builder like Linssen […]
New stabilizers for MV Astra – a result of the cooperation between DMS Holland and Balk Shipyard
As a result of the cooperation between DMS Holland and Balk Shipyard – with Balk Shipyard being DMS’s first official installation facility in Europe – the companies proudly to announce that MV Astra is the first vessel that has been launched after installing the MagnusMaster stabilizers at the Balk Shipyard premises. Built in 1994 and with a total length of 24 meters MV Astra is a real tugboat of 170 tons built under ice class and has been used as a rescue service vessel for many years. Even after being sold to her current Swedish Owner her ice breaking services were used several times. First of all, let us clarify the difference between traditional fins and the MagnusMaster stabilizers. The MagnusMaster stabilizers are a fully electrical driven, non-hydraulic roll damping system for yachts and vessels up to 30 metres. Instead of traditional fins, the system uses rapidly rotating cylinders which […]
DMS Holland ‘Mobile’ during the Hiswa-In-Water boat show
During the recent Hiswa-In-Water-boat-show, Europe’s biggest in-water exhibition, DMS Holland followed a completely different course. This year DMS Holland did not have a manned-stand with a demonstration model of a roll damping system on display. Instead there was an interactive presentation wall on which the logos of the shipyards to which DMS Holland supplies the MagnusMaster system and a film with testimonials could be seen. Patrick Noor, owner of DHM Holland, explains: “We wanted to show the visitors that we are proud to be delivering the MagnusMaster stabilisation system to more than 20 shipyards in the Netherlands alone. And then to the full satisfaction of both the yard and the end customer. In highlighting the close cooperation that we have with the yards, we wanted to emphasise and strengthen our position as the ‘preferred supplier’.” The reactions from the shipyards were great. “We are very pleased with the support we […]
Balk Shipyard – The first AntiRoll installation facility in Europe
A steady partnership in perfect balance A tradition of shipbuilding that spans more than two centuries, the 7th generation now at the helm and Purveyor to the Court of the Netherlands. There are few shipyards that are able to present such a record. Balk Shipyard can. And this is testimony to their tradition in innovation and respect for their roots. A heritage which has driven them to continuously anticipate the requirements of the times and develop effective and agile business strategies. As a result, Balk Shipyard can now call themselves an outstanding, high-quality refit yard. One filled with advanced facilities, the latest equipment and specialized experts covering every aspects of the complete refit. In addition to the large investments they have made, it is largely their ‘instinct’ for pioneering, innovative products and developments that has played a crucial role in the success of Balk Shipyard. It is, therefore, not surprising […]

MagnusMaster, the new generation stabilizers from DMS Holland, to be unveiled at METS
During the upcoming METS taking place from the 17th-19th November, DMS Holland will be unveiling the MagnusMaster on their stand 10.321. In 2012, DMS Holland started with two business operations. One as a distributor for RotorSwing Marine (RSM) to bring RotorSwing to the market and the other as the in-house developer and, in time, the manufacturer of AntiRoll, an innovative stabilization system for super- and mega yachts which has been awarded various prizes over the last year. Backed by extensive experience and expertise in the stabilizer sector, DMS Holland has conquered the market with RotorSwing. The figures speak for themselves: From just one shipyard in 2012 to now more than 15. In the Netherlands alone sales stand at about 50 systems but they have also supplied systems in Turkey, Portugal, Germany and the USA. Now, more than 3 years later, the collaboration between RotorSwing Marine and DMS Holland has come […]
AntiRoll huge success on Santa Maria T at zero speed
Stable in seconds, from stumbling to strolling It all happened just off Corsica as the boat headed for Cannes Boat Show. Over the last few days, the zero speed functionality of the AntiRoll stabilization system has been put in to operation on board of Santa Maria T, a 37 metre trawler built by Van der Valk Continental Yachts. The results there and then: captain and crew knocked off their feet. Not because of their boat rolling to and fro but in sheer astonishment. The Santa Maria T remained perfectly still in the water only seconds after the AntiRoll stabilization system had been switched on. Perfectly still after only a few seconds. To activate the AntiRoll system the Captain set, from the bridge, a 6 degree roll angle to each side. Almost immediately after AntiRoll had been switched on, cries of disbelief and enthusiasm echoed from the bridge: 1 degree! And […]
DMS Holland: Full steam ahead….
By the time this article goes to press, the counter could quite possibly have already reached 60. DMS Holland has the wind in its sails and has recently delivered its 50th stabilization system. Patrick Noor: “Standing still often means regression, but not for us. We endeavour to achieve just that striving for near perfect balance. We mean of course quite literally for our systems but also for our company. A stable business ‘buoyant’ on innovation. One that is now also focused on innovation and improvement. The details and results of this focus will be made public in November during METS.” Shedding some light on this, Arnold van Aken (Engineering) commented: “We have achieved notable product advancements: higher reliability, simplifications and now extremely compact. Installation of our stabilization systems is therefore much easier.” Due to the company’s explosive growth and innovation drive, DMS has taken on a new facility with a […]
AntiRoll and RotorSwing at METS Achieving super (yacht) success
With the Maritime Innovation Award and a nomination for the DAME Award in the bag, METS could not have got off to a better start for DMS Holland. This promising start was paired with a fitting sequel having received a Special Mention for the AntiRoll stabilization system during the presentation of the Dame Award. Co-owner and commercial director of DMS Holland, Patrick Noor: “Naturally, we had hoped to win the Dame Award 2014, especially having already recently been awarded the Maritime Innovation Award. However, this Special Mention also carries distinctive value and, together with winning the Maritime Innovation Award, certainly contributed to the large numbers of visitors at our stand. We can look back on a very successful METS.” Arnold van Aken, engineering director of DMS Holland: “What really struck me about the visitors to our stand was the purpose with which they visited the booth. Practically every visitor proved […]
DMS Holland distinctive at METS
Once again, there will be many maritime businesses present at this year’s METS and as always, some stands will be more prominent than others. But, no matter how striking the other stands are, DMS Holland offers a unique distinction on their stand. On November 6th, DMS Holland was awarded the Maritime Innovation Award 2014 for their AntiRoll stabilization system. And with a little luck, the DMS stand during METS could turn in to a real trophy cabinet. Following the DAME nomination of the RotorSwing rolldamping system in 2013, AntiRoll has also been nominated for the DAME Award 2014.
AntiRoll from DMS wins Maritime Innovation Award
Bosch Rexroth makes distinct contribution to energy-efficient hybrid drive. The AntiRoll from DMS is a roll stabilization system for 30-metre-plus ocean-going yachts. What makes AntiRoll unique is that the stabilization is highly effective both at sea and when moored, while the familiar disadvantages of comparable systems – significant drag in the water, leading to high levels of noise and fuel consumption – are kept to a minimum. This innovative solution lies in the biaxial elongated fins and the hybrid drive, in which Bosch Rexroth has ingeniously combined the advantages of hydraulics with the capabilities of variable frequency servo motors and control technology. The unique benefits for the maritime world of this solution have been recognized by the jury of the Maritime Innovation Award, who yesterday awarded the FIRST place to the design. The Maritime Innovation Award was launched in 2000 by the Holland Marine Equipment Association, to raise awareness of […]
Spectacular presentation of the AntiRoll roll damping system
Huge applause, fireworks and confetti accompanied the official unveiling of the first AntiRoll stabilization system on Friday 12th September at BurgEquipment in Oostburg, AntiRoll’s production partner. After intensive engineering and test phases in collaboration with MARIN, TU Delft, TU Eindhoven, TNO, Brabant Engineering and Bosch Rexroth, production of the AntiRoll roll damping system started at the beginning of 2014 at BurgEquipment and its sister company BurgMetaal. The first AntiRoll system came off the production line in September and, following its celebratory introduction to the market, will now be installed in the 37 meter Wim van der Valk Trawler ‘Vagabundus’.
